St. Catharines February 6, 2013 Real Estate Staging Association® (RESA®) the trade association for professional home stagers local Niagara Chapter has come to the rescue of a St. Catharine’s woman needing assistance in selling her home in order to afford lifesaving cancer treatment.
Terri Valstar a single woman from St. Catharines ON, put her house on the market in early 2012 and it did not sell. Terry is no stranger to hard times as she lost her only son in a tragic car accident just a few short years ago. After her home did not sell, she was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in late 2012. Terri’s prognoses was bleak with traditional forms of treatment, so she decided she needed to re-list her home for sale in an effort to raise the funds needed for alternative treatments with a much higher success rate.
Terri had heard of home staging and reached out to the local Niagara RESA Chapter for assistance. The group pooled their resources and decided to help Terri pro-bono. The group of stagers has donated packing, organizing, painting and staging services. The help does not stop here as the very generous service providers the home stagers work with also decided to donate their resources to assist in the sale of this home as well.
The group is still in need of many items that can be found at your local Home Hardware or Home Depot, such as plumbing fixtures, a hood fan, door hardware, etc.
The property will be finished and listed on the local MLS February 14th, 2013 by Jean & Randy Page from Sally McGarr Realty, who have also donated their services.
If you would like to donate items, money or a gift card to this cause, please contact the RESA Niagara Public Relations coordinator Lisa McIntee at 905-358-4887. All donors will be featured on our website and given as much media exposure as we can get.
